BS6 Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500 Launching Soon

With the coming BS6 deadline, Mahindra & Mahindra is ready to roll out the upgraded versions of all its existing offerings. While prices of the BS6 Bolero have already been leaked on the web, the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500 will be the next in the lineup. Prices of the updated Scorpio and XUV500 are likely to be announced in coming weeks.

Powering the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio will be the same 2.2L mHawk diesel engine, which will meet the BS6 emission standards. The power and torque figures of the updated motor are yet to be revealed. In its BS4 form, the oil burner delivers two different power outputs – 120PS with 280Nm and 140PS with 320Nm (depending on the variant). Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed manual.

BS6 Mahindra XUV500 Bookings

Bookings of the BS6 Mahindra XUV500 have already been commenced at dealership level. The SUV’s updated model can be pre-booked by paying a token amount of Rs 20,000. The BS6 XUV500 will be offered in three variants – W7, W9 and W11. Under the hood, the SUV will employ the BS6-compliant version of the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine calibrated with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and a 2-way Oxidation Catalyst.

The BS4 Mahindra XUV500 delivers a claimed power of 153bhp at 3750rpm and 360Nm of torque between 1750rpm – 2800rpm. The SUV can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Prices of the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500 are likely to be increased by up to Rs 1 lakh. At present, the Scorpio comes in the price range of Rs 10.19 lakh – Rs 16.83 lakh and the XUV500 costs between Rs 14.18 lakh – Rs 17.16 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
