BS6 Benelli Imperiale 400 Launch Price Rs 1.99 Lakh

Benelli India has rolled out the BS6-compliant version of the Imperiale 400 motorcycle in the country. Priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, the updated model is around Rs 20,000 more expensive than its BS4 model. Compared to the entry-level Royal Enfield Classic 350 dual-channel ABS variant that costs Rs 1.67 lakh, the BS6 Benelli Imperiale 400 is over Rs 30,000 more expensive. Powering the BS6 Benelli Imperiale 400 is the same 374cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that has been calibrated to meet the new emission standards. The power and torque figures of the updated unit are exactly similar to the old one. That said, the air-cooled motor pushes out a maximum power of 21bhp at 6,000rpm and 29Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The company is offering a standard 3 year/unlimited km warranty with the bike’s updated model.

The bikemaker says that the Benelli Imperiale 400 “is a reinterpretation of the historic Benelli-MotoBi range produced in the 1950s. The retro-styled motorcycle features round front headlamp and a teardrop tank. Other key highlights include a twin-pod instrument cluster, split seats, a pearshooter-type exhaust. Similar to the old model, the BS6 Benelli Imperiale 400 features a 300mm single disc with a two-piston floating calliper up front and a 240mm rear disc brakes. The dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) comes as a standard feature. The updated model runs on the same 100/90 – 19 front and 130/80-18 rear tyres and wire-spoke wheels.
