BS6 Bajaj Platina 100 Launched With Minor Updates
Baja Auto has rolled out the BS6-complaint Platina 100 commuter in the country. The model lineup comes in Kick Start and Electric Start variants priced at Rs 47,763 and Rs 55,546 respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike’s updated model uses the fuel injected 102cc, single-cylinder engine paired to a 4-speed gearbox. It makes a top power of 7.7bhp and 8.34Nm of torque. Besides the BS6-complaint motor, the 2020 Bajaj Platina 100 receives minor cosmetic upgrades. The coloured cowl has been replaced with a tinted windscreen. While the headlamp unit remains unchanged, the LED DRL has been moved slightly towards the headlight. The commuter also gets a new seat with ribbed pattern as we have seen in the Platina 110 H-Gear.
With features such as extra-long double spring rear suspension, spring-soft seat, directional tyre and rubber footpad are claimed to improve its riding comfort. The commuter derives its braking power from 130mm front and 110mm rear drum brakes, further assisted by CBS (Combi braking system). No changes have been made to the 2020 Bajaj Platina 100 dimensions. The bike’s updated model continues to measure 2003mm in length, 713mm in width and 1100mm in height. It sits on a 1,255mm long wheelbase and offers a saddle height of 804mm. The Platina 100 has a ground clearance of 200mm. While the kick start variant has a kerb weight of 116kg, the electric start model weighs 117.5kg.
