BMW Launches New S1000 XR Pro Adventure Bike; Price, Details

The all-new BMW S1000 XR adventure sport bike has finally been launched in the Indian market. The new motorcycle can be ordered as a completely built-up unit (CBU) via the BMW Motorrad dealer network. The BMW S1000 XR is available in a Pro variant, which is priced at Rs 20.90 lakh.

The new S1000 XR is available in 2 color options – Ice Grey and Racing Red. Powering the motorcycle is a BS6 compliant 999cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine that produces 165bhp of power at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 9,250rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. Slipper clutch and engine drag torque control comes as standard. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 3.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of over 200kmph.

The motorcycle weighs 226kgs and offers a usable fuel tank of 20-litres. It has a seat height of 840mm. The BMW S1000 XR Pro rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels shod with 120/70 ZR and 190/55 ZR tyres at the front and rear respectively.

The new S 1000 XR is available with 4 ride modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. In the Dynamic Pro mode, rider can configure the traction control, throttle response, ABS and wheelie control settings. All modes and settings can be operated from the new 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display. The motorcycle also gets DTC and hill start control. The adventure sport bike also gets BMW’s Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) system.

The all-new BMW S1000 XR comes with a standard warranty for ‘three years, unlimited kilometers’, with an option to extend the warranty to fourth and fifth year. The motorcycle will directly rival the upcoming BS6 compliant Ducati Multistrada 1260 S.
