BMW will launch the M6 Gran Coupe in the Indian car market on April 3. It is the third variant of BMW M6, which is adding to its current range of the Coupe and Cabriolet. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe is basically the performance version of the BMW 6 Series Grand Coupe saloon, and it will compete against the likes of Audi RS7 and Mercedes CLS63 AMG.
Engine & Performance
The new BMW M6 Gran Coupe gets the same 4.4-litre V8 engine that also powers the current generation BMW M5. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 568PS and 678Nm of peak torque. It takes 4.2 seconds to cross 100kmph barrier from rest and it attains a top speed of 250kmph (electronically restricted). One can derestrict the top speed of this M6 Gran Coupe, which can be extended to 306kmph. The twin-turbo V8 engine can develops power from as low as 1500rpm all the way to 5750rom, which makes it a perfect vehicle to drive on normal as well as spirited driving conditions. This engine is paired to the BMW twin-clutch 7-speed gearbox with paddle shifters, which distributed power to rear wheels of the car.
Design
The BMW M6 Gran Coupe is based on the 6 Series Gran Coupe and it features an aggressive body kit. It has a carbon fibre roof that is exclusively developed for the BMW M models. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe sports 19-inch or optional 20-inch alloy wheels which further enhances the overall sporty character of the car. The M6 Gran Coupe comes with aggressive bumpers which sports larger air intake on the front complemented by aggressive flared wheel arches. To offer a sporty feel and improved performance, the rear bumper of the Gran Coupe has BMW M quad-pipes and a diffuser.
Features and Interiors
The BMW M6 Gran Coupe presets the luxurious interiors which come with a host of advanced features. As standard, the vehicle has leather interiors, 20-way electronically adjustable and heated M Sport seats, 10.2-inch display with built-in navigation, rear parking camera with 360-degree parking assist and several others. Additionally, the M6 Gran Coupe features an advanced audio system with 12 speakers, HD radio and an iPod adapter, automatic climate control and a keyless entry and start system.
Price
The BMW M6 Gran Coupe will be launched in India on April 3, 2014 and is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.1-1.3 Crore (ex-showroom).
