Bike & Car Launches In February 2019

2019 January has witnessed some blockbuster launches including Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, New Maruti Suzuki WagonR and New Yamaha FZ motorcycle range. The next month (February) will also be an action-packed for the automobile industry. There will be two big car and bike launches. Here, we will discuss some key features and details of the upcoming models.

Mahindra XUV300

The Mahindra XUV300 is certainly one of the big launches of the year. Scheduled to go on sale on 14th February, the subcompact SUV will gun up straight against the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Price of the SUV is estimated to start from Rs 8 lakh and go up to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV300 is the first car in its segment to offer dual zone climate control with rear AC vents, smart steering, all disc brakes and seven airbags. In fact, the base variant of the SUV is loaded with safety features such as ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold assist and three-pointed seatbelts. Audi A6

Audi India hasn’t yet announced the launch date of the all-new A6 sedan. Though, it is likely to see a release in February, 2019. First previewed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the eighth-generation Audi A6 gets an all-new look, revised interior and advanced technology. Compared to the previous model, the new one is 7mm longer, 12mm wider and 2mm taller. The wheel size of the sedan has also been increased and now it ranges from 17-inch to 21-inch. Engine setup of the 2019 Audi A6 will include – 3.0L TFSI petrol and TDI diesel – generating 335bhp with 550Nm and 282bhp with 620Nm respectively. Both powertrains will use an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox for performing transmission duties.

Honda CB300R

First unveiled at the 2017 EICMA Motorcycle Show, the Honda CB300R will hit showrooms on 8th February, 2019. Estimated to be priced around Rs 2.5 lakh, the bike will come to India as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit. Powering the motorcycle is a 300cc, single-cylinder DOHC engine boosted with fuel injection technology. This liquid-cooling motor, with a 6-speed gearbox, delivers power worth 30bhp with 27.5Nm of torque. In India, the Honda CB300R will face challenge from Bajaj Dominar, BMW G310R and KTM 390 Duke.

Yamaha MT – 15

Yamaha Motor India is ready to roll out the all-new Yamaha MT-15 streetfighter in coming weeks. While pre-bookings have been commenced at dealership level, deliveries are reported to begin in the first week of April, 2019. The bike uses a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a 6-speed gearbox. The power and torque outputs stand at 19.3bhp and 14.7Nm respectively. The new Yamaha MT-15 features a more muscular design with an upright riding stance. It also receives new features along with the dual-channel ABS technology.
