The Benelli Zafferano maxi-scooter is already retailed in select south-east Asian markets.

DSK Benelli recently expanded its Indian product portfolio with all-new 302R full faired sportbike. The Italian bike manufacturer is also planning to bring in a new quarter litre street motorcycle and an adventure tourer in the country. Besides this, the company will also foray into the scooter segment with the Benelli  Zafferano which is recently spotted testing near Pune in Maharashtra.

The DSK Benelli  Zafferano is a maxi-scooter, which is already on sale in select south-east Asian markets. Though no official word has been made on its India launch, the company has commenced testing it in the country. In Indonesian market, this scooter is made available at Rs 2.2 lakh. Benelli Zafferano Scooter spied

Propelling the Benelli  Zafferano scooter is a 249.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine boosted with electronic fuel injection. The motor, with a V-belt automatic gearbox, can churn out a maximum power output of 20.79bhp at 7,000rpm and 20.83Nm of torque. Suspension setup of the scooter includes telescopic and adjustable shock absorber at the front and rear axle respectively. Donning a sporty and bold stance, the new Benelli scooter looks bigger than most of the scooters currently on sale in India. Proportionally, the Zafferano measures 2,168mm in length, 796mm in width and 1,434mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 1,488mm and stand on a ground clearance of 103mm. It carries a kerb weight of 155kgs, and offers a fuel tank capacity of 12-litres.

The Benelli Zafferano comes fitted with 14-inch alloys shod with 120/70 section front and 140/60 section rear tyre. Some of the key features include windshield, under-seat storage, grey-faced speedometer and tachometer dials with a digital display in the centre, etc.
