Benelli Imperiale 400 To Get More Variants; To Take On Royal Enfield
The Italian sports bike maker recently rolled out its first retro-styled cruiser motorcycle in India – the Benelli Imperiale 400. Talking to an online media publication, Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director of Benelli India, has revealed that the company is working “a couple of iterations’ of the Benelli Imperiale 400 featuring different size of engines.
Benelli Imperiale 400 new variants will be put up against Royal Enfield motorcycles. The company’s R&D department is currently working on 5 to 6 new products and some of them could be brought to India. Though, it will depend on the market feedback for different products.
Designed especially for the Indian market, the Benelli Imperiale 400 is being imported to India via CKD (completely knocked down) unit. In future, the company might also export the cruiser in other markets with different specifications.
The all-new retro-styled cruiser from Benelli has been retailed via marketing tie-up with Hyderabad-based Adishwar Auto Ride India, a subsidiary of Mahavir Group. The Benelli Imperiale 400 is currently available at 26 dealers across the nation.
The company aims to expand its sales network with around 80-100 outlets by the end of 2020. Benelli’s Hyderabad based plant has production capacity of up to 20,000 units annually. The bikemaker will ramp it up to 40,000 units once the demand increases.
