Homegrown automaker, Bajaj has unveiled the new 2018 Bajaj V15 premium commuter motorcycle in the country. Besides 2018 V15, the company has also revealed the 2018 Bajaj V12 at the launch of new Discover range. As a reminder, the V15 is the first motorcycle from the homegrown two-wheeler maker in its new ‘V’ brand. Positioned between Discover 125 and Pulsar 150, this motorcycle has been marketed as lifestyle commuter. The 2018 V range comes with subtle design upgrades and improved seat cushions. Bajaj is also offering the motorcycle with one-year free insurance, which costs Rs 1,500. The 2018 Bajaj V15 also gets an added backrest, which will come handy for people usually ride with a pillion.
The most interesting aspect of this bike is that it contains metal from the INS Vikrant – India’s first aircraft carrier. First launched on February 1, 2015, the V15 has been one of the top-selling premium commuters in the company. After seeing a positive response for V15, Bajaj had launched the V12 in the market. Though it was claimed a niche bike, it has also affected the sales of mass-segment 150cc bikes like Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha R15, etc. The 2018 Bajaj V15 will be launched before the Delhi Auto Expo 2018 and is expected to carry same price tag. 2018 Bajaj V15 Launch
Bajaj auto has unveiled the motorcycle at the new Discover launch event. Though the exact launch date is yet to be announced, we believe that the motorcycle will be launched before Delhi Auto Expo 2018.

The new V15 is powered by an all-new 150cc, air-cooled single-cylinder DTS-i engine, which is now compliant to BSIV norms. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 12bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 13Nm at 5,500rpm. This powertrain is claimed to offer ample reserves of torque at any RPM for different riding terrains, which let a rider enjoy it at all speeds. Transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox, which is the same that is used by the Discover series. For shock absorption, the Bajaj V15 gets 33 dia telescopic forks upfront and twin-spring loaded hydraulic type with gas filled rear suspension, which is largest in its segment.

With scrambler + cafe racer like styling elements, the Bajaj V15 2017 looks quite attractive. The bike contains metal from the INS Vikrant – India’s first aircraft carrier – which is the most interesting aspect of this stylish motorcycle. Talking about styling, the V15 gets the classic retro appeal and is the only bike in its league to have this retro feel. The bike share several design components from the Avenger cruiser. Bajaj Auto claims that its upright stance signifies solidity and attributes of the invincible INS Vikrant.
The Bajaj V15 features a cafe-racer inspired front fascia, INS Vikrant badge, removable rear seat cowl, LED tail lamp ergonomic handlebars and bold stance. Based on the double down-tube frame, the bike gets a new neo-retro design featuring both classic as well as modern elements. The rear gets removable seat cowl and neat chrome work. The homegrown two-wheeler maker claims that the bike’s trapezoidal headlamp is 60 per cent brighter than other bikes in its league. There is an all-new analog instrument panel featuring speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge. The new speedometer cluster comes with a dual colour LED fuel level indicator.
The new V15 motorcycle features 5-twin spoke aluminium die-cast wheels that are fitted with 90/90 – 18-inch front and 120/80 – 16-inch rear tyres. The bike’s tyres are claimed to offer best-in-class road grip and stability. Braking system of the bike comprises of large 240 dia disc upfront and 130 dia rear drum brake.
