Set to be launched within this fiscal year, the new Bajaj V motorcycle will be positioned between the CT100 and the V12/V15.

Buoyed by excellent response for V12 and V15, Bajaj Auto is planning to launch a new variant of the Bajaj V in the current financial year. If media reports are to be believed, the new model will be launched as an affordable product in the Bajaj V range. The new motorcycle will be positioned between the Bajaj CT100 and the V12/V15. It is likely to share engine specs with the CT100. Going by the nomenclature, we expect that the new model could be called Bajaj V10. Though, official details about the motorcycle are yet to be revealed by the maker.

Bajaj currently sells the V12 at Rs 55,060, while the V15 is retailed at Rs 61,580. We believe that the new motorcycle could be priced below Rs 50,000 and will be launched as a premium commuter in the 100cc segment. Besides, the company will also launch a new Bajaj Avenger variant in the country within this fiscal year. The new V10 or V100cc could be launched before March 2018.

It is expected to share mechanics with the CT100, which is powered by a 99.3cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 8.08bhp and a peak torque of 8.05Nm. Bajaj V10 Launch Date

The homegrown automaker is yet to make an official announcement on the same. However, media reports suggest that the motorcycle will go on sale before end of current fiscal year. A possible launch before Delhi Auto Expo 2018 can’t be ignored. We will update you as soon as Bajaj announces anything on the same.

The V10 is likely to share its mechanics with the popular Bajaj CT100. It will get a 100cc single-cylinder, air-cooled carburetted engine that produces 8.08bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The company could tune these engines for improved performance. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox.

The suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of Hydraulic, telescopic type and trailing arm with co-axial hydraulic shock absorber and coil springs at the front and rear, respectively. In Bajaj CT100, this 99.3cc engine is claimed to return an impressive fuel efficiency of 89.5kmpl. We believe that the new V10 will also be high-on fuel economy and could return close to 80kmpl.

Bajaj V10 Design

It is expected that the new Bajaj V10 will look identical to its elder siblings – V12 and V15. Similar to the existing V range, the new commuter will have patriotic association with the INS Vikrant warship. The motorcycle will have classic retro-modern appeal. It will get trapezoidal shaped headlight with chrome surround, chrome-tipped matte black exhaust pipe and new body graphics. Like the bigger siblings, the new motorcycle could get removable rear seat cowl and new speedometer console with a dual-colour fuel level indicator. Instead of LED tail-light, the bike is likely to get conventional lights.

The bike is expected to be fitted to 18-inch and 16-inch front and rear alloy wheels, respectively. In order to achieve aggressive pricing, Bajaj could cut down some features. It might get tubed tyres and steel wheels.
