Bajaj Urbanite’s first electric scooter is estimated to be priced around Rs 1.1 lakh (on-road).

Bajaj Auto will soon introduce its Urbanite new electric vehicle brand in the country. The first scooter developed under this brandname recently spotted testing in Pune. According to a latest media report, the new Bajaj Urbanite scooter could be named ‘Chetak’. Bosch, the German engineering and technology firm, will play pivotal role in the development of the electric Bajaj Chetak.

The new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is likely to hit roads in coming months. As far as pricing is concerned, it is estimated to cost around Rs 1.1 lakh (on-road). If launched at this price, the new electric Chetak will take on the Ather 450. Read – Bajaj-Triumph Alliance – New Details Emerge

Bajaj Urbanite’s first electric scooter will feature a retro design with elements like apron-mounted turn indicators, handlebar mounted LED headlamps, stepped seat and LED taillamps. It’s might get 12-inch front and rear alloy wheels along with a fully digital instrument console and a front apron-mounted storage compartment.

The leaked design sketches revealed that the new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will have single-sided front suspension setup with anti-dive. For braking purpose, it will get a front disc and rear drum brake. Engine details of the e-scooter are still under the wraps.
