Bajaj Auto, the homegrown automaker has now confirmed that their next launch in the country is the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 or 200 RS. The company has confirmed the launch by a Facebook page posting. It is expected that the motorcycle will be the Pulsar 200 SS, which has already been shown to world on different platform and is scheduled to go on sale in Turkey in June.
The ‘RS’ could refer to ‘Racing Sports’ and the facebook post carries a tagline ‘Fastest Pulsar Yet’, which also confirms that the the vehicle would get the 200cc engine. This is the same engine that also powers the 200 NS and is expected to be tuned for more power. The Pulsar 200NS is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder triple-spark liquid-cooled engine that produces 23.52PS at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 18.3Nm at 8,000rpm. The RS 200 will get fuel injection and an optional Anti-Lock Braking System.
The teaser image also reveals that the RS200 is the fully faired bike, which also reaffirms that the bike will be the Pulsar 200SS. Already spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian soil several times, the fully faired Pulsar RS 200 will get dual projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED taillamps. It will be offered in four exterior shades including Yellow, Blue, Red in dual tone pattern with white as secondary shade, and the Black.
The official bookings for the Pulsar RS 200 are yet to commence; however, few dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the bike and deliveries promised by the end of April. The Pulsar RS 200 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.10 lakh to Rs. 1.35 lakh.
