Bajaj Auto, India’s leading 2-wheeler makers has filed patents for 3 new names – the Dynamo, Technik and the Technica. Bajaj has received a ‘Formailty Check Pass’ for the Dynamo name, while the Technik and Technica have received an ‘Accepted & Advertised’ status. The names have been registered under Class 12, which includes ICE two-wheelers, electric vehicles as well as three wheelers.
The term ‘Dynamo’ is used for an electrical generator that creates DC current using a device known as a commutator. The device is used to convert rotational mechanical energy into electrical energy. The Bajaj Dynamo could be used to name an electric two-wheeler or a new ICE platform or EV platform.
Technik is a German word for Technique, which refers to a collection of techniques or a practical aspect of a given art. The Technica refers to a body of technical terms of a methods in a particular field.
Bajaj has already announced that it will continue to focus on both its ICE and EV portfolio. Bajaj is currently selling the Chetak electric motor. Adding to it, the company is also working with Yulu on the development on an all-new electric vehicle. This EV will be launched before the end of this year. Moreover, Bajaj is also working on multiple EVs under the Chetak nameplate.
