Bajaj Chetak Launching on January 14, 2020
The much-awaited Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will finally go on sale in the Indian market on January 14, 2020. The scooter will be launched at an event in Mumbai. It was first unveiled on 16th October 2019. The scooter will be first made available in Pune and Bengaluru, before going on sale in other cities.
The Bajaj Chetak e-Scooter is estimated to be priced around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be retailed via the KTM showrooms. Adding to it, Bajaj will also introduce new dealerships and will gradually upgrade its own dealership network. Inspired by the Vespa scooters, the Bajaj e-Chetak will rival the likes of the Okinawa i-Praise and Ather 450.
The new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter features an IP67 rated Lithium-ion battery. This battery system is compatible with 5-15 amp household electric outlets for charging. Bajaj will also provide the charging stations to buyers at an additional cost.
The scooter comes with 2 riding modes – Sport and Eco along with a reverse assist mode. The lithium-ion battery pack is non-removable. The scooter offers a real-world range of 95km in Eco Mode and 85km in Sport mode.
The Bajaj e-Chetak electric scooter comes equipped with decent features including all-LED headlamp with integrated daytime running lights, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless functionality, reverse assist, a digital instrument console, multi-spoke alloys, disc brake at the front, etc.
