GST Impact – Bajaj Bikes Get Cheaper By Rs 4,500

Thanks to GST announcement, Bajaj Auto has announced to pass on the GST benefits to customers before June 30.

GST (Goods and Service Tax) will be implemented from July 1, 2017 in India. Bajaj Auto, the home-grown automaker has decided to pass on savings earned from GST implementation to customers from June 14 till June 30. Now, the Bajaj bikes get cheaper by Rs 4,500, depending on the model and the state. Bajaj Auto has become the first automaker to pass on the GST benefits before June 30. Commenting on GST benefits, Eric Vas, president of motorcycle business, Bajaj Auto said, “As a responsible corporate Bajaj Auto is happy to pass on the price saving accruing out of GST to its customers. With the GST implementation just around the corner, we felt that it would be appropriate to pass on this significant savings to customers. Bajaj Auto is proud to be the first motorcycle company in India, to offer post-GST reduced prices to customers even before the implementation date. Bajaj hasn’t revealed the exact amount of discounts on product wise. Adding to it, the Dominar 400 prices remains the same. Benefits on the bikes will change from state to state. Customers can reach dealerships to avail all the benefits by booking the product between June 14 and June 30.

According to the new tax slabs in GST, bikes above 350cc engine will attract higher rates. This will increase the prices of the Dominar 400, which is powered by a 373.3cc single-cylinder engine. As a reminder, Bajaj Auto has recently raised the prices of the Dominar in India.
