Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS Version Launching In Q1, 2019

The Bajaj Avenger 220 series will come equipped with single-channel ABS as standard

Besides Pulsar range, the Avenger 220 series has been the most successful nameplate for the homegrown two-wheeler automaker. With appealing looks and affordability, the motorcycle is quite popular among the young buyers who love cruising. It is also the most affordable cruiser bike currently on sale in India. Bajaj is now readying the updated version of the Avenger 220 Cruise and Street bikes.

The 2019 Bajaj Avenger 220 will come with a safety net of ABS as standard. This will improve the overall braking system of the motorcycle, would make cruising safer than before. It is expected to come with a single-channel ABS system, which also offered in the Pulsar NS200 and RS200. 2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220

The addition of single-channel ABS will increase the prices of the Avenger twins. It is expected that the ABS would cost around Rs 6,000. While the current Avenger 220 starts at Rs 96,922 (ex-showroom), the updated model will cost around Rs 1.03 lakh.

Besides ABS, the motorcycle will remain largely unchanged in terms of specs and design. It is powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that churns out 19bhp of power and 17.5Nm of torque. For suspension duties, the motorcycle gets telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle comes with 260mm front disc and 130mm rear drum brakes. While the Avenger 220 Street comes with more modern looks, the Cruise variant gets cruiser like design. The company had launched the facelifted version of the Avenger in 2017. It comes with LED daytime running lights, digital instrument console and new colour options.
