The new Bajaj Avenger motorcycle range has registered its highest-ever sales in February, 2016. Bajaj Auto’s President of Finance, Kevin D’Souza, has confirmed that the new Bajaj Avenger cruiser range has garnered over 31,000 units of sales in the previous month (i.e. February). Though, the bikemaker hasn’t yet disclose the variant-wise sales data. These figures also signify that the sales of the Bajaj Avenger have grown ten folds within a year.
In December 2015, the Bajaj Avenger Street 150 recorded an average sales of 10,000 units per month. Despite being a risk of cannibalization with the Pulsar 150, the Avenger’s 150cc model done well, and contributed 40% of total sales of the new Avenger models. The Avenger 150 was launched the Street 220 and Cruiser 220 in October that collectively registered a totals sales average of 15,000 units per month. While the Street 220 and Cruiser 220 are priced at Rs. 84,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the entry-level Bajaj Avenger Street 150 is being offered at Rs. 75,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). All three models come as replacement of the old Avenger.

Power for the Bajaj Avenger Street 150 comes from a 150cc, twins-spark, air-cooled DTSi engine that is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine pushes out power worth 14.3bhp at 9,000rpm, while generating a peak torque of 12.5Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine delivers 10% more torque than the Pulsar 150.
The Street 150 shares most of its design elements with its bigger siblings – Street 220 and Cruise 220. The bike also features new badges, black alloy wheels, new tail pipe design and re-positioned key lock. It is equipped with the 90/90-17″ 49P front and 130/90-15″ 66P rear tyres. Dimensions of this cruiser measure 2,177mm in length, 801mm in width and 1,070mm in height. Its wheelbase stands at 1,480mm. It has a kerb weight of 148kg, and offers a fuel tank capacity of 14-litres.
This entry-level cruiser is being made available in Midnight Blue color only. It also comes equipped with telescopic upfront and twin shock absorber rear suspension system. Braking power for the motorcycle comes from the 240mm front disc and 130 rear drum brakes. Though, the new model is devoid of anti-lock braking system (ABS).
