The 15th edition of Asia’s largest automotive show – the Indian Auto Expo 2020 is scheduled to commence on February 7th to 12th February at Indian Expo Mart in Greater Noida. New automakers as well as existing cars brands are likely to showcase a range of new cars, concepts and future technologies at the biennial event. Here is a list of top 5 new cars to watch out for at the 2020 Auto Expo.
New Honda City
Honda’s most popular car – the City sedan will receive a new generation model in early 2020. It is expected that the next generation Honda City will make public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new model will receive significant design changes and better quality interior. Adding to it, the new City is likely to grow in size and will offer more space inside the cabin. It will be offered with the BSVI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The sedan will also receive a mild-hybrid system.
Volkswagen Group has confirmed that it will showcase the future product line-up at the 2020 Auto Expo. The made-in-India Volkswagen T-Cross SUV will make its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV will be based on the locally-developed MQB AO IN platform, which will also underpin the Skoda Kamiq SUV for India. It will be offered with 2 engine options – a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre petrol.
2020 Hyundai Creta
India’s hugely popular SUV – the Hyundai Creta will enter into the new generation in 2020. The company is most likely to showcase the next Hyundai Creta at the biennial event. It will come with all-new exterior design inspired by bigger Hyundai cars including Palisade and Santa Fe. Adding to it, the company will offer multiple interior options with the compact SUV. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol.
New Mahindra Scorpio
The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra has started testing the next gen Scorpio. Scheduled to be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the new model will receive new BSVI compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine. The SUV design will be all-new and it will be longer and wider than the outgoing model. The SUV will also receive Alturas G4 inspired interior and the forward facing third-row of seat.
The UV maker is also testing an all-new 7-seater premium SUV, which will be based on the XUV300 platform. Codenamed S204, the new SUV will share the dimensions with the global SsangYong Tivoli XLV. It is likely to be offered in both 5 and 7-seat options. The SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre GDI naturally aspirated direct-injection 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine will also power the Mahindra Marazzo next year.
