Audi’s most powerful and fastest car – Audi R8 V10 Plus – has been launched in India in the presence of cricketing superstar Virat Kohli at Audi India Range drive in Bengaluru. Virat Kohil’s passion for cars is no secret, nor his association (sort of) with the German luxury carmaker Audi. Just so you know, the Indian test cricket team captain already own the limited edition of the R8 LMX, A8L W12 Quattro and Q7 from Audi.

Priced at a whopping Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra), the Audi R8 V10 Plus derives its power from a naturally-aspirated 5.2 FSI quattro V10 mid-engine. This powertrain is capable to do 0-100kmph in merely 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 330kmph. The maximum power offered by the Audi R8 V10 Plus is 610bhp (449 kW). This sportscar weighs 1,454kg that makes it lighter than its previous model.

Commenting on the launch, Joe King, Audi India head, said “Our focus is on the road ahead for the next ten years. We will be introducing products in new segments, with new body styles, new design language and new technologies to celebrate this success. We will also focus on strengthening our dealer network by introducing new customer touchpoints and innovative concepts like the Audi Mobile Terminal which is already a success in Tier II and Tier III cities. We will continue to provide the best to our customers in India and will launch at least ten new products in 2016.”

Currently, Audi India’s product portfolio includes A6, A3 Cabriolet, A3 Sedan, A8 L, A4, Q3 Quattro, Q5, Q7, S5 Sportback, RS 6 Avant, RS 7 Sportback, and TT Coupe. With such a wide fleet of luxury cars, the German carmaker currently is the second largest luxury carmaker in India.
