Audi India will launch the much-awaited Audi A3 sedan in the country on August 7, 2014. Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the A3 sedan is currently on media drives. At the time of unveiling, the vehicle received a positive response from critics and buyers
The Audi dealers have received an overwhelming response from the prospective buyers and have asked the company to double the numbers of A3 allocated to them. The company is also aiming to launch the A3 Cabriolet and hatchback in India by the end of this fiscal.
The Audi A3 sedan shares its features with its other siblings. The front grille, ORVMs, and other features resemble the other A-Series sedans. The grille is flanked by the Bi-xenon headlamps with daytime running LEDs. The front bumper gets large air inlets. Its side profile gets aerodynamic creases running across the length, while the stylish wheel-arches add to its sporty look.
Audi A3 sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the gasoline version has the 1.8-litre TFSI mill that produces 168bhp and 320Nm of torque, the oil burner is powered by the 2.0-litre TDI motor producing 150bhp and 320Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to Audi’s six-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission which sends the power to front wheels of the car.
The new Audi A3 sedan is expected to be priced around Rs. 25 lakh. The company is also working on a price cut version of this sedan, just like Audi Q3 S, which is likely to be priced around Rs. 22 lakh.
