Audi, the German luxury carmaker that launched the A3 sedan has finally launched the highly rated A3 Cabriolet in the Indian car market. This two-door, four seater convertible is priced at Rs. 44.75 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi.

Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the A3 Cabriolet comes with retractable roof top which can works speeds of up to 50kmph. With this model, the German maker is targeting at the consumers looking for the joy style while driving with roof down.

The Audi A3 Cabriolet is 4.42 metres long, 1.79 metres wide and 1.41 metre high, and it has a large wheelbase of 2.60 metres. This convertible offers a luggage carrying capacity of 60-litres. Sharing its styling cues with the A3 sedan, the A3 Cabriolet gets single frame radiator grille which is complemented by flat headlamps. Its windscreen frame is made of aluminium, and an aluminium-look strip runs around the roof aperture. The soft fabric roof opens or closes electro-hydraulically with a press of a button in less than 18 seconds and speeds of up to 50kmph.

The interiors of the Audi A3 Cabriolet largely resemble the sedan model. It features high quality material, elegant lines and clean surfaces. The plane instrument panel features a curvy front section. Its centre console angles towards the driver, making easier to use gizmos on offer. The large, round air vents with Audi’s ‘jet design’ is borrowed from the sedan. The rear seats can be folded down to increase luggage space.

It is propelled by a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol unit that develops 180PS of top power and 350Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a seven-speed S-tronic twin-clutch gearbox. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 7.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 240kmph.
