Audi India has rolled out the updated petrol version of its most affordable sedan – A3 – at Rs. 25.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi & Mumbai). The Audi A3 4.0 TFSI petrol variant receives noticeable cosmetic updates, while the engine remains the same. Just so you know, Audi A3 is available in four trims – Attraction, Premium and Technology – and two engine options – 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel.
On the exterior, the Audi A3 4.0 TFSI Premium trim features halogen lamps, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, light and rain sensor and 5-spoke 16-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels. The compact luxury saloon is offered with a ‘High Gloss package that adds more to its sporty appeal. Inside the cabin, the car gets a 4-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with leather cover, new Regatta Leatherette Fabric upholstery, new floor mats, electronically adjustable-driver seat and new ambient transparent inlays in 3D look.
Though, the most significant change comes in the form of an updated infotainment system that gets Audi music interface, passive speakers, Bluetooth interface and MMI radio. The Audi music interface, that integrates USB storage devices or portable media players into MMI, enables passengers to select music albums, tracks, genres and artists via the MMI controls. Other noteworthy features include dual-zone automatic climate control with sun sensor and rear AC vents, auto release function, rough ride suspension, driver information system, lighting package plus, a chrome package and cruise control.
For safety purpose, the sedan gets 7-airbags, electronic stabilization control (ESC), anti-slip regulation (ASR) and anti-theft wheel bolts. Powering the Audi A3 4.0 TFSI Premium is the same 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine that delivers a maximum power of 177.5bhp and 250Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission, and returns a fuel economy of 16.6kmpl. It is capable to achieve 0-100kmph in 7.3 seconds that makes it one of the most powerful cars in its league. The saloon has an electronic speed limit of 250kmph.
