Aston Martin’s first ever SUV, the Aston Martin DBX has been launched in the Indian market at Rs 3.82 crore (ex-showroom). This luxury SUV will rival the Bentley Bentayga, Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Lamborghini Urus.
The Aston Martin DBX is a full-sized SUV, which measures over 5 meters in length. In terms of proportions, it is 5,039mm long, 1,998mm wide and 1,680mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,060mm. The wheelbase is longer than the Porsche Cayenne and the Bentley Bentayga. The SUV has a ground clearance of 190mm, and has adaptive air suspension which increases and decreases the suspension by 45mm and 50mm respectively.
The Aston Martin DBX is based on an all-new, bounded aluminium platform that was designed specifically for the SUV. The SUV comes equipped with large ‘DB’ grille, which covers most of the front face. It gets large 22-inch alloys, frameless doors, roof-mounted spoiler, LED tail-lamps connected via a LED bar, and signature ducktail-style boot lid spoiler and twin exhaust system.
Inside the cabin, the Aston Martin DBX comes with a 3-spoke steering wheel, a 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit with Apple CarPlay, a 360 degree camera, ambient lighting, panoramic roof, heated seats, 3-zone climate control and an 800-watt, 14-speaker sound system. The SUV has a large 632-litre boot, with rear seat features a 40:20:40 split.
Powering the Aston Martin DBX is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that churns out 542bhp of power at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 700Nm between 2,200 to 5,000rpm. Power is transmitted to all-wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 291kmph.
