The Czech Republic automaker, Skoda has introduced its first armoured vehicle based on the Skoda Superb Estate. Priced at Rs £118,688 (which is around Rs 1.06 crore), the armoured Skoda Superb Estate has been designed in collaboration with UK-based convertor. The car took four weeks to build in the UK at cost of £119,000. The bomb and blast proof Skoda Superb Estate looks exactly similar to the standard production model, though it comes packed with several high-end protection features. For power, the armoured Skoda Superb Estate uses the standard 188bhp, 2.0-litre TDI engine, which is certified to PAS 300 civilian protection. That means, the vehicle offers strong protection against the blasts, missiles and ballistic impacts including shotgun, handgun and rifle. The certification procedure is performed at an independent facility where the vehicle is exposed to the firing of different types of ammunition and threats.

The suspension and braking mechanism of the armoured Skoda Superb Estate has been upgraded with additional weight. Its braking system has been certified to NAPFM (National Association of Police Fleet Managers) type 001 brake test. Inside, the armoured Skoda Superb Estate features an 8-inch touchscreen communications hub with GPS, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The vehicle is 4.8m long, 1.5m tall and offers a boot space of 660-litres.
