Aprilia Storm 125 is the most affordable scooter from the Italian two-wheelermaker in India

Piaggio Group has introduced the new Aprilia Storm 125 scooter in India at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom, Pune). First previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Storm 125 sits below the SR 125 in the company’s product lineup. The company claims that the scooter “has a dynamic exterior theme with vibrant colours, specially designed wide terrain tyres, 125 cc engine and customisation through accessories that make it unique.”

Designed for young urban buyers, the Storm 125 derives its power from the same 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder carburetted engine that also does duty in the SR 125. This motor is capable of producing a top power of 10.5bhp at 7,250rpm and 9.9Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. For performing transmission duties, it gets a CVT automatic gearbox borrowed from the SR 125. Aprilia Storm 125 Design & Features

Unlike its donor sibling that comes fitted with 14-inch wheels, the Aprilia Storm 125 is offered with the smaller 12-inch wheels. The scooter also gets Vee Rubber-branded off-road tyres. The sizes of the front and rear tyres is 120/80 and 130/80 respectively. It has black graphics on the front apron and side panels.

Aprilia is offering a pack of accessories with the scooter including a large windscreen, etc. The Aprilia Storm 125 scooter comes in a choice of two paint schemes – Matte Yellow and Matte Red. Suspension mechanism of the Storm 125 comprises of telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear shock absorber. It gets 150mm front and 140mm rear drum brakes along with CBS (Combi-braking system).
