The Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Aprilia showcased an exciting range of bikes and scooters at the 14th edition of Delhi Auto Expo in February, 2018. While there were two 150cc motorcycles – Tuono 150 (semi-faired) and RS 150, the company also revealed the Storm 125 scooter. The Aprilia Storm 125 scooter is based on the SR 125 that was introduced at the biennial event. According to a fresh report, the launch of the vehicle has been postponed to early 2019. Earlier, the scooter was scheduled to hit showrooms during 2018 festive season.
The India launch of the Aprilia Storm 125 has been delayed due to CBS (Combi-braking system) upgrade, claims a latest online report. Earlier, the company was considering to launch the non-CBS version of the scooter that would be upgraded with CBS technology at a later stage. Now, the company is planning to introduce the Storm 125 with CBS from the day one. Piaggio hasn’t revealed the launch date and details of the vehicle yet.

Designed for young urban buyers, the Storm 125 sources its power from the same 125cc, single-cylinder carburetted engine that also does duty in the SR 125. This motor pushes out a top power of 10.5bhp at 7,250rpm against 9.9Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. For performing transmission duties, it gets a CVT automatic gearbox borrowed from the SR 125. Unlike its donor sibling that is assembled with 14-inch wheels, the Aprilia Storm 125 comes fitted with smaller 12-inch wheels. The scooter also gets Vee Rubber-branded off-road tyres. The sizes of the front and rear tyres stand at 120/80 and 130/80 respectively. Aprilia is offering a pack of accessories with the scooter including a large windscreen, etc. This new 125cc scooter comes in bright paint schemes of Matte Yellow and Red. Suspension mechanism of the Storm 125 comprises of telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear shock absorber. It gets front disc and rear drum brakes.
