Aprilia Comfort 125cc Scooter To Launch In August, 2019
The Aprilia Comfort will compete with Hero Destini, Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125.
The Italian two-wheeler maker, Piaggio is planning to expand its Indian product portfolio with two new Aprilia scooters. One of them will be the Aprilia Storm 125 that was previewed at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2018 and the second one will be an all-new model designed especially for the Indian market.
According to a fresh media report, the all-new Aprilia scooter will be named – Aprilia Comfort. With features such as a large seat, a spacious under seat storage and bigger footboard, the new scooter from the Italian two-wheeler maker will focus on comfort of the rider. In terms of design and styling, the Aprilia Comfort will share most of its elements with the existing Aprilia scooters. Features such as instrument cluster, switchgear and grab rail are likely to be carried over from the SR scooter range. For suspension duties, it might get telescopic forks at the front axle. Rumor has it that the new Aprilia Comfort will be propelled by a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine sourced from the SR 125. This motor can make a peak power of 9.51bhp at 7,250rpm and 9.9Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. Aprilia might tune this motor to achieve higher fuel economy. In the 125cc scooter space, the Aprilia Comfort will take head-to-head with Hero Destini, Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. Price of the scooter is estimated to be around Rs 80,000 – Rs 90,000 (on-road). As far as launch is concerned, the Comfort scooter is reported to hit showrooms in August, 2019.
