The 2019 Toyota Camry underpins the new TNGA-K platform, thus making it lighter than the predecessor.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has finally introduced the new-generation Camry hybrid electric sedan at an introductory price of Rs 36.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In India, the new Toyota Camry 2019 will be brought via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, and then assembled at the carmaker’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka. The new Toyota Camry 2019 underpins the new TNGA-K (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, thus making it lighter and more efficient than the predecessor. Compared to the previous generation, the new model is bigger and more spacious. In fact, it sits slightly lower than before providing optimal centre of gravity. Featuring the ‘Keen Look’ design, the new Toyota Camry 2019 receives new bi-beam LED headlamps with DRLs, a V-shaped above the bumper with signature badge, a pronounced grille with revised upper and lower section and wider airdam with horizontal louvers at the front end. Interior of the new Toyota Camry 2019 has been packed with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, all-new dashboard, 7-inch instrument cluster, a 10-inch Head-Up-Display, automatic climate control, 9-speaker JBL Dolby audio system, wireless Qi charging, rear armrest and dual USB charging ports. At the heart of the new Toyota Camry 2019 is the same 2.5L, four-cylinder petrol engine paired to an 88kW electric motor generating a combined power of 208bhp. The gasoline alone produces power worth 176bhp with 221Nm of torque. The carmaker claims that the new Camry has lower carbon emission and delivers fuel economy of 33.4kmpl. Transmission on offer is a 6-speed CVT unit.
