Czech automaker, Skoda is readying an all-new range of cars for the Indian market. The company will introduce an all-new mid-sized sedan to replace the outgoing Rapid. Scheduled to be launched in 2021, the next-gen Skoda Rapid could make public debut in India at Auto Expo 2020. The world premiere of the new model will be held in Russian towards the end of this year. Skoda has released the first design sketch of the new Rapid sedan.

Going by the sketch, it is visible that the design of the new Rapid is inspired by the flagship new Superb sedan. The next-gen Skoda Superb will be launched in our market in 2020. The company claims that the sedan features balanced proportions, sharp edges and vibrant design elements. The Chinese version of the next-gen Skoda Rapid was recently caught testing. The spotted model comes with all-new design inspired by the new Superb. It has new grille with thick chrome surround and sleeker headlamps, and sleeker assembly for LED fog lights. At the back, the next-gen Skoda Rapid will have all-new tail-lamps and boot lid. The exhaust unit is integrated into the bumper. The India-spec version will also receive the electric sunroof. The cabin of the sedan is yet to be revealed, but it is likely to receive all-new dashboard with new colour themes and features. Also See – 5 new Skoda cars coming next year in India

It will receive a large touchscreen infotainment system with modern day smartphone connectivity features and leather seats. The India-spec Skoda Rapid will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will produce over 110bhp of power and close to 150Nm of torque. The company could also introduce the CNG variant of the sedan.
