All-New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Is Coming To India In 2019
The new Pajero Sport will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Skoda Kodiaq.
Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi has recently launched the new Outlander SUV in the Indian market. The company is also planning to launch the Eclipse SUV and the Xpander Crossover-MPV in the country. According to the AutoCarIndia, Mitsubishi will launch the third-generation Pajero Sport in India in 2019. The report further suggests that the new model will be brought in as a completely built import initially, while the local assembling could start on later stage. This clearly indicates that the new Pajero Sport will come with a big price tag.
For people not in the know, the third-gen Pajero Sport is already on sale in select international markets since 2015. The company will soon launch the facelifted version of the SUV, which will also make its way to our market. It is based on the Triton pick-up truck platform and offers ruggedness and off-road capabilities. In terms of styling, the 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport gets aggressive front fascia featuring a striking grille and sharp headlamps. The cabin is loaded with several high-end features including leather upholstery, a touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera and seven airbags. Under the bonnet of the new Pajero Sport is a 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel engine that produces 181bhp of power and 430Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to all-4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is expected to be a BS VI-compliant unit. The new Pajero will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Skoda Kodiaq.
