New Maruti Celerio 2020

Codenamed YNC, the second-generation Celerio hatchback is expected to be launched by mid-2020.

Despite massive decrease in demand for entry-level cars, Maruti Suzuki is aiming to further strengthen its position in the affordable car category. The company will launch the long-awaited Concept Future S based micro SUV in India this festive season, Diwali. Rumoured to be called Maruti S-Presso, this sub-5 lakh micro SUV will be aiming at first time car buyers. Not just a micro SUV, Maruti will also launch the all-new Celerio hatchback in the next 12-18 months.

Codenamed YNC, the second-generation Celerio hatchback is expected to be launched by mid-2020. Similar to the S-Presso, the new Celerio is likely to be entirely designed and developed by Maruti Suzuki engineers in India. The new model will come with all-new design, which will appeal to young car buyers of the country. The hatchback will be based on the Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the new Wagon R and the upcoming S-Presso mini SUV. It will be more efficient, lighter and safer than the existing model. The second-gen Maruti Celerio will receive dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and speed alert as standard safety features.

The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will also receive some high-end comfort and convenience features. It is expected to receive a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Other features likely to include automatic AC, rear parking camera, multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable ORVMs, etc. Also See – Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars in India

Both manual and AMT (automated manual transmission) versions will be on offer.
