The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio is ready to hit showrooms in coming weeks. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, the model is reported to arrive on 10th November 2021. The company will soon organize its media drive and the dealers’ training will begin in the first week of November. Unofficial bookings for the new 2021 Maruti Celerio have already been commenced at a token sum of ranging between Rs 5,000 – Rs 11,000.
More Frugal Engine
If reports are to be believed, the hatchback will come with a new 1.0L K10C, 3-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine. The motor has higher compression ratio, modified exhaust gas recirculation and dual injectors fitted near to the inlet valves. The motor is reported to deliver a class-leading mileage of 26kmpl. The existing 69bhp, 1.2L petrol engine will be dropped from the model lineup.
Angular Design
Set for a generation change, the Maruti Celerio receives significant updates inside and out. Talking about the exterior, the hatchback carries more angular design elements instead of the old tall stance. Upfront, it features a flattish-oval grille with honeycomb pattern, newly-designed fog lamp assembly, triangular headlamps which are connected through a chrome strip, revised bumper with contrast black accents and a more upright nose. Compared to the current generation, the new one has a long tapering roofline, extended glasshouse and longer wheelbase. In fact, the new-generation Celerio looks bigger than before.
New Platform
The new 2021 Maruti Celerio underpins Suzuki’s Heatect platform that makes it wider than the current model. The hatch will be more rigig, lighter and safer than before.
Upmarket Interior
Interior details of new-generation model are yet to be revealed. Though, the new Maruti Celerio 2021 is expected to get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Features such as a new instrument console, new upholstery and a multi functional steering wheel might also be on offer.
