The next-generation Mahindra Bolero, Scorpio and XUV500 will be based on new platforms, which will be lighter & safer

It is no secret that Mahindra is working on a range of new utility vehicles for the Indian market. Not just new models, the company will also introduce the new-generations of the existing SUVs including Scorpio, Bolero and the XUV500. Moreover, the company will also launch the next-generation Mahindra Thar in late 2019. The new-generation Bolero, Scorpio and XUV500 will go on sale before April 2020.

The current Mahindra Bolero will not meet the upcoming crash test norms and will require a better structure to continue sale. Additionally, the new model will share the platform with the next-gen Thar SUV. It will have better structural integrity and safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors as standard. The SUV will be powered by a new BSVI compliant diesel engine. It is expected to be longer than the outgoing model, which will help Mahindra to create more space inside the cabin.

The company will launch the new-generation Scorpio and XUV500 SUVs in India by 2020. The new models will come with all-new design and many segment first and modern features. The Scorpio will have aggressive looks and stance and will rival the Tata Harrier, Kia Trazor and the Hyundai Creta. The next-gen Scorpio SUV will be designed with the help of Mahindra owned design firm Pininfarina. Moreover, the next Scorpio will be more powerful, safe and will have premium interiors.
