All-New Mahindra Thar New Images Reveal More Details

It is no secret that Mahindra is working on the next-generation versions of its existing SUV range, which includes Bolero, Thar, XUV500 and Scorpio. The first model to receive the generation change is the popular lifestyle SUV, Mahindra Thar. In fact, testing of the new model has already been started. It is scheduled to be launched in the end of 2019, which will be followed by new-gen Bolero in early 2020.

A latest set of spy images reveal new details about the design of the new-gen Mahindra Thar. The all-new Thar retains the original classic look, which is quite famous among enthusiasts of the country. It will be based on an all-new platform, which will be stronger and compatible with upcoming BSVI emission norms. The new model will have wider body and the newly styled front fascia.

The new Mahindra Thar will be equipped with dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), speed-sensing door locks, rear parking sensors, etc as standard. The SUV retains the CJ5-inspired design and will continue to offer the no-nonsense off-roader styling. It gets a 7-slat grille that will be shared with retro-styled circular headlamps and LED indicators placed on the front fenders. The new Thar lifestyle SUV will also receive premium cabin, featuring better quality plastic and more features. The next-gen Mahindra Bolero will also share the platform with the Thar. The next-gen Thar is expected to receive a new turbocharged diesel engine, which will be compliant with BSVI emission norms. This engine is likely to offer more power and torque than the outgoing model. It is expected to receive a newly developed 5-speed manual gearbox that will send power to all-4 wheels via a 4-wheel-drive system with locking differentials.
