All-New Mahindra Bolero Will Be Safer, Efficient and Powerful – Launch Timeline
The all-new Mahindra Bolero production is likely to commence around January 2020.
It is no secret that Mahindra is working on the new-generation versions of the Bolero, Thar, Scorpio and XUV500. All these models will come with BSVI compliant engines and better safety features. A new report of Livemint claims that Mahindra will start production of the BSVI compliant Bolero SUV around January 2020.
Mahindra will launch the new-gen Thar lifestyle SUV this year. In fact, testing of the new model has already been revealed. The next-gen Bolero will also receive new safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seatbelt reminder as standard. Moreover, the next-gen Bolero will meet the upcoming safety and crash test norms.
The all-new Mahindra Bolero will be based on the new GEN3 platform, which also underpins the latest Scorpio and TUV300. This platform will also be used to develop the new-gen Thar. In terms of styling, the new-gen Bolero will retain the existing rugged styling. It will receive subtle design changes to keep things fresh in the market. The current generation Bolero is very popular in the Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
The new-gen Mahindra Bolero is expected to receive a more powerful diesel engine. The company is working on a new 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, which will be available in multiple states of tunes. This engine will also power the new Thar and the Mahindra XUV500.
The current-gen Mahindra Bolero was first launched in the Indian market in 2000. In the past 18 years, the Bolero received minimal changes. The company had also introduced the sub-4 meter version of the SUV. Mahindra is currently selling around 7,000 units of the Bolero SUV per month.
