Jeep to launch Compass Trailhawk and new Wrangler Unlimited this year.

FCA has officially announced that it will launch 2 new models – the Jeep Compass Trailhawk and the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in the Indian market this year. The company is also working on expanding its dealership network across India. FCA now has 82 outlets in 70 major cities. The FCA group has introduced 4 new showrooms in Bengaluru, Panjim, Ajmer and Patiala.

Our upcoming products, the indomitable Jeep Trailhawk and the new generation Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will require us to have larger presence and fine-tuned customer experience and coverage.”

The new Jeep Wrangler was first unveiled at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. The company has already imported the new model in India, which has been spotted multiple times during its test rounds. The 2019 Jeep Wrangler retains the original rugged design language, featuring slightly bigger and bolder bumper. It features the signature vertically slatted grille, round projector headlamps and LED DRLs. Some of the design highlights include pronounced wheel arches, new black door handles, ORVM and roof.

The cabin also gets the traditional look, but it now comes with modern day comfort and convenience features. The SUV is fitted with 7-inch TFT LED driver information display, passive keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone climate control, and Uconnect 4C NAV 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is available with 2 engine options – a 3.6L Pentastar V6 petrol engine and a 2.8L CRD turbo diesel DOHC. While the fromer is good for 284PS at 6,350rpm and 347Nm at 4,300rpm, the oil burner produces 200PS at 3,600rpm and 460Nm between 1,600 – 2,600rpm. Power is transmitted to the wheel via a 5-speed automatic gearbox. It also gets the shift-on-the-fly part-tome 4WD system.
