All-new Hyundai Grand i10

The all-new Hyundai Grand i10 will go on sale in India in the second half of 2019

Korean automaker, Hyundai is working on a range of new cars for Indian as well as global markets. The company will soon introduce its smallest SUV – STYX – which will make its debut at the 2019 New York Motor Show in April. Hyundai has also testing the nex-gen Grand i10 hatchback in India as well as on foreign soil. This time, the hatchback has been spotted doing cold weather testing in Europe.

Likely to be launched in the second half of 2019, the new gen Hyundai Grand i10 will be based on the new Santro’s platform. The spy images reveal that the new model will be longer than the outgoing model, which suggests more legroom and cabin space for the rear occupants. Upon its launch, the hatchback will challenge the Maruti Swift and Ford Figo.

The previous interior spy images reveal dual-tone black and beige colour scheme. The hatchback gets new steering wheel, newly styled rotary AC vents, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, cooled glove box and rear AC vents.

On the exterior, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 gets large headlights and tail-lights, and the brand’s signature new hexagonal grille. It will also receive newly designed alloy wheels. The model for India will receive dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, seatbelt reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors as standard safety fitment. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which will be compliant with BSVI emission norms. This engine produces 82bhp of power and 112Nm of torque. We believe that the next Grand i10 will only be available in petrol version, as the tuning of diesel engine to meet BSVI emission norms will significantly increase the prices of the model. For transmission duties, the hatchback will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. An AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit will come as optional.
