All-New Hyundai Creta 2020 – 5 Big changes to look out for

Next-gen Hyundai Creta 2020

The next-gen Hyundai Creta for India will be available with 2 newly developed 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.

Korean automaker, Hyundai has showcased the 2020 ix25 SUV at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. This model previews the next-gen Creta, which will be launched in the Indian market in 2020. The India-spec model will share most of the design and interior components with the new-gen ix25, which is scheduled to be launched in China in the end of this year. The new-gen Hyundai Creta is expected to make India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, while launch could take place in the second half of 2020.

Tesla inspired Interior

Similar to the current model, the next-gen Hyundai Creta’s interior will have similarities with the new ix25. The new model gets black-and-beige interior scheme and the clean and clutter free dashboard design. The centre console styling seems heavily inspired from the Teslas. Longer and Wider

The next-gen Hyundai Creta will be based on the new platform, which also underpins the upcoming Kia SP2i SUV. Thanks to the new platform, the next-gen Creta will have low kerb weight. In terms of proportions, the new ix25 is 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1620mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2610mm. The new model is 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 45mm shorter than the outgoing model, while the wheelbase has been increased by 20mm.

Design inspiration from Palisade

The new Hyundai ix25 comes with radical design changes, which is inspired by the bigger Hyundai SUVs including Santa Fe and Palisade. Instead of the squarish front, the new model has rounded front profile. It features the signature Hexagonal cascading grille with piano black finish and chrome enhancement, two-tier headlamp setup with LED DRLs, new LED tail-lights, diamond cut alloys, sloping roof, etc. Also See – Hyundai Venue launch and other details

New Petrol and Diesel Engines

The next-gen Hyundai Creta for India will be available with 2 newly developed 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. These powertrains will be BSVI compliant and are expected to offer punchy performance. Moreover, the new engines will be more fuel efficient and powerful than the existing 1.6-litre engines.

7-seater Model in the works

The India-spec Hyundai Creta will be introduced in 5 and 7-seat layouts. While the 5-seater model will be launched in 2020, the 7-seater Creta will arrive in 2021.
