2019 Honda Insight Concept (1)

All-new Honda City sedan will be launched in India in early 2020.

The next-generation Honda City sedan is expected to make global debut in the end of 2019. The sedan will first go on sale in Thailand, followed by Indian market in the first quarter of 2020. It is likely to be unveiled at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Media reports claim that the next-gen City sedan will be bigger, spacious and feature-loaded than the outgoing model.

The next-gen Honda City will be more premium over the current model. It will come with all-new design inspired by Honda’s new-gen design philosophy for bigger sedans. It is expected that the next-gen City sedan’s design will be heavily inspired with the Honda Insight and Accord sedans. The front fascia of the sedan will get the signature look similar to the Insight sedan, though Honda will make subtle changes to keep things fresh.

Some of the design highlights are likely to include a massive chromed grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, sculpted bonnet, fastback-like roofline and strong creases all around the body. The front could get more rectangular profile, similar to that of the new Amaze and Accord. Also See – Upcoming Honda Cars In India

The next-gen Honda City sedan will be larger than the outgoing model, and will ride on a longer wheelbase. This will help Honda to create more space inside the cabin. Like the current model, the next City will offer more comfortable and feature-loaded cabin. The fit and finish and plastic quality will also see a drastic improvement. Expect better NVH levels along with advanced infotainment system.

The next-gen Honda City will be available with BSVI compliant 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. The company is also working on an efficient full hybrid version of the City sedan, which is expected to be launched in India in 2021.
