All New Ford Explorer SUV Unveiled
The 2020 Ford Explorer SUV is claimed to have “more capability, more power, more space”.
The new-generation Ford Explorer SUV is ready to make its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show that will take place from 14th to 27th January, 2019. Prior to its official unveiling, the carmaker has released official pictures of the vehicle revealing its design and interior details. To be made available in four variants – XLT Limited, Limited Hybrid, ST and Platinum, the new Ford Explorer 2020 is claimed to have “more capability, more power, more space”. For the US market, the new Ford Explorer 2020 will be offered with two powertain options – a 3.0L turbocharged EcoBoost V6 and the tuned 2.3L EcoBoost. While the former makes a whooping 350bhp, the latter produces 300bhp. The SUV comes with FWD (four-wheel drive) system and a new Terrain management system. It offers six driving modes – Normal, Eco, Sport, Trail, Slippery and Tow/Haul. For transmission purpose, the SUV gets an all-new 10-speed gearbox. Features such as 8-inch digital touchscreen with SYNC 3, FordPass Connect and Wi-Fi service for up to 10 devices are standard on the carline. It also gets Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver assist technologies that include pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking featuring pedestrian detection, forward collision warning and dynamic brake support. Safety features such as blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, rearview camera with built-in lens cleaner, lane-keeping system and auto headlamps with auto high-beams, Ford’s all-new intelligent adaptive cruise control with speed sign recognition are also on offer. The carmaker’s Chicago based plant serves as production hub for the new Ford Explorer 2020. The SUV will see a release in the US market in summer 2019.
