American automaker Ford has unveiled its all-new Edge SUV at the Ford Go Further Consumer Event in Michigan, USA. The vehicle will go on sale across Europe for the first time in 2015. The new Ford Edge is an upscale vehicle and is based on the same platform that also underpins the Mondeo sedan.
The all-new Ford Edge is equipped with high end features including Adaptive steering, which will make it easier to manoeuvre, Europe Active Noise Cancellation technology and front split view camera. The Adaptive steering changes the steering ration with vehicle speed, optimizing the steering response in all conditions. Its Active Noise Cancellation system features three microphones in the cabin and generates opposing sound waves directed through the audio system that improves the overall engine sound and cabin ambiance.

The all-new Ford Edge features a prominent chrome grille flanked by thin LED headlamps. At the back, the vehicle has three-dimensional blade shape rear LED tail lamps. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 20-inch alloy wheels.
The European spec Ford Edge will be offered with 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine. One model features a 2.0L diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox that produces 180PS and 400Nm of torque, on the other hand the powerful version of the SUV is paired to a six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission and paddle-shift controls that produces 210PS and 450Nm of torque.
