All-New Citroen C3 SUV Sheds Camo In New Spy Photos

French automaker, Citroen is testing the all-new C3 compact SUV in India and Brazil. The new model will replace the C3 and the Aircross in select international markets. It will be Citroen’s first locally developed product in the Indian market. The vehicle will rival the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and others in its category.

The new Citroen C3 has been caught testing in Brazil. The spotted model has less covers, revealing more design details. The Brazilian media claims that the new model is very close to compact SUVs like Ford EcoSport and Jeep Renegade; however, the length of the SUV will be around 4 meters. This will allow the all-new Citroen C3 to avail tax benefits on cars measuring below 4 meters in length in India.

The spy images reveal that the new Citroen C3 shares the rear view mirrors with the Peugeot 208. The side window line seems identical to that of the C5 Aircross. At the front, the new C3 gets split headlamp setup with LED DRLs at the top that connect to the front grille. The SUV gets generous air vents, which makes it look more robust. The rear profile has high bumper that holds the nameplate, while the tail-lights are divided into 3 parts. The rear view mirrors look similar to the C4 Cactus. The SUV gets 15-inch wheels and a high suspension. The report claims that the SUV gets a big multimedia system. The dashboard and steering wheel design will be shared with the C4 Cactus.

The Brazilian-spec model will use the 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated engine with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. It could also use the the new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which will also make its debut on the Fiat Argo.

The new Citroen C3 will be based on the simplified version of the CMP platform that also underpins the Peugeot 208. The new platform will also be used to develop a mid-sized SUV, a new hatchback and a new sedan. The new C3 will arrive in our market in the end of 2021.
