All-New 2018 Suzuki Ertiga Cross Rendered!

2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross

Expected to be launched in early 2019, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross won’t have a direct rival in the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki will launch two all-new models – new Ertiga and WagonR – in the country this year. The new Ertiga is expected to be launched during festive season, Diwali. We informed you earlier that the Indo-Japanese brand is working on the crossover version of the Ertiga , which is scheduled to be launched in India next year. Here is a speculative rendering of the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross MPV, which reveals the possible design.

Similar to the new-generation Ertiga, the upcoming Crossover derivative will be based on the Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform. Expect new models to be lighter, safer and more fuel efficient than the previous model. Going by the rendering, it is visible that the cross shares front design with S-Cross. It features S-Cross like front grille, sweptback headlamps, a more prominent front bumper and cladding on the sides. The crossover is likely to have an increased ground clearance, which will also add some ruggedness to its looks.

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross will share mechanics with the regular model. The gasoline version will be powered by a new 1.5-litre K-Series unit that produces 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. On the flip side, the oil burner will be a tried and tested 1.3-litre MJD engine producing 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 4-speed automatic gearbox could also be offered with the petrol version.

The Cross model is likely to get all-black cabin with contrasting seats. It will be equipped with features like SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features are likely to include multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, auto-up power window in the driver side, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, etc.
