Most of the four and two-wheeler manufacturers have resumed operations and multiple dealerships are now opened across the nation. Now, the companies are planning to launch new models that have been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic and the nationwide lockdown. Here’s the list of the top upcoming cars and bikes that will hit showrooms in June, 2020.

1. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol, which was previewed at this year’s Auto Expo, is all set to launch in early June. In fact, the model has started arriving at dealerships and its unofficial bookings have been commenced across the nation. The updated crossover lineup will drop the entry-level Sigma trim and come in three variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Under the hood, the 2020 Maruti S-Cross petrol will feature the BS6-compliant 1.5L K15B engine that’s good enough for 105PS and 138Nm. The gasoline motor will be boosted with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.

2. Hyundai Tucson Facelift

Hyundai Motor India has confirmed that its next launch will be the Tucson facelift that was unveiled at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. The premium SUV will be offered with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine option. While the gasoline motor makes 150bhp with 192Nm, the oil burner pushes out 182bhp with 400Nm. There will be two trims to choose from – GL Option and GLS. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift receives noticeable changes inside and out. The SUV now offers Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity suite along with several comfort goodies.

3. Datsun Redi-Go

Datsun India will soon announce prices of the Redi-Go facelift. The hatchback has witnessed minor styling updates including a wider and taller radiator grille, revised headlamps with large L-shaped DRLs, new bumper and outside mirrors, new dual-tone wheel covers and taillamps with new LED elements. The 2020 Datsun Redi-Go also offers the segment-first LED fog lamps. The lineup also gets two new colour schemes – Brown and Blue. Inside, there will be a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and voice command function. Its engine setup will include the BS6-compliant version of the 0.8L and 1.0L petrol units.

4. Honda WR-V Facelift

Honda WR-V is ready to receive a mid-life update in coming weeks. The updated model will come with the BS6 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines paired to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed manual gearbox respectively.  The former produces a peak power of 90bhp against 110Nm of torque and the latter delivers 100bhp with 200Nm. The 2020 Honda WR-V is reported to offer fuel economy of 16.5kmpl (petrol) and 23.7kmpl (diesel), which is slightly less than its BS4 version. Minimal changes will be made to its exterior and interior including LED lighting, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, one-touch electric sunroof and cruise control.

5. BS6 Honda Jazz

The Japanese carmaker will also update the Honda Jazz hatchback with BS6-complaint engine. This time around, the lineup will drop the old diesel powertrain and will be offered with petrol engine only. That said, the 2020 Jazz will come with the BS6-ready 1.2L petrol motor paired either to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. The hatchback will also get LED headlamps and updated front bumper. Interior might be revised with new seat fabric and an updated 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

6. New-Gen Honda City

The fifth-generation Honda City is surely one of the much-awaited launches of this year. Comprehensive changes will be made to the sedan. If reports are to be believed, the 2020 Honda City will get a new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine featuring new platform and better technology. The new twin-cam unit will be capable to deliver a peak power of 119bhp against 155Nm of torque. The BS6 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine will also be offer. The sedan can be had with three gearboxes – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Dimensionally, the new City will be bigger and more spacious.

7. MG Hector Plus

MG Motor India is all set to introduce its third product in June – the MG Hector Plus. The SUV will be offered with 6 and 7-seats configurations, and will be longer and more spacious than its 5-seater sibling. Design and styling of the Hector Plus will be slightly different than the standard model. It will carry all-black grille (without chrome), updated headlamps with thicker LED DRLs, new fog lamps, revised bumper and differently designed LED tailgate. Engines and gearboxes will be carried over from the 5-seater Hector. That means, the Hector Plus will come with a 1.5L turbo petrol, a 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid system and a 2.0L diesel engine options.

8. Force Gurkha

2020 Force Gurkha made its first public appearance at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new Gurkha has more rugged styling and better equipped interior than the previous model. On the exterior, the off-road SUV carries a newly-designed grille, revised bumper, new light clusters and more prominent wheel arches. Significant changes have been made to its interior as well. The updated model features a new dashboard, centre console with integrated touchscreen infotainment system, revised instrument cluster and new control surfaces for the air con system. Powering the off-road SUV will be a 2.6L diesel engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

1. Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which is essentially the successor of the Thunderbird 350, is reported to hit roads in June, 2020. It will be RE’s first bike to be based on the new double cradle chassis that will also be used in the new-generation Classic 350 and Bullet 350. The RE Meteor will derive its power from a new 350cc, single-cylinder engine that’s likely to feature a single overhead camshaft. Some of its key features will include a circular headlamp, blacked out engine case, circular taillamps with chrome bezels, circular instrument console and new turn indicators. The model lineup will get dual-channel ABS as standard fitment.

2. New Yamaha FZ 25, FZS 25

Yamaha Motor India will announce prices of the 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 motorcycle in June, 2020. With the update, the bike lineup will get a new and premium FZS 25 variant sporting a set of knuckle guards and a long visor. The new FZ 25 will be offered in Metallic Black and Racing Blue colour schemes and the FZS 25 will come in three shades – White Vermillion with black alloy wheels, Patina Green with gold-coloured alloy wheels and Dark Matte Blue with gold-coloured alloy wheels. Powering the bike will be a BS6-compliant 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel injected engine with a 5-speed gearbox. Its power and torque outputs stand at 20.8PS and 20.1Nm respectively.

3. Hero Xtreme 160R

In February 2020, the home-grown two-wheeler maker unveiled the Hero Xtreme 160R at the Hero World alongside the 2020 Glamour and Passion Pro BS6. The Xtreme 160R has been listed on the company’s official website ahead of its launch. It will be introduced as a successor to the Xtreme Sports 150 and take on the bikes like Suzuki Gixxer and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. For power, the bike will use a BS6-compliant 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine hooked to a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel injected motor pushes out power worth 15bhp and 14Nm of torque. It’s claimed to be to accelerate 0 to 60kmph in 4.7 seconds, thus making it quickest bike in its segment.
