8 Big New Car Launches In March, 2020

In March 2020, the Indian automobile industry will witness some major new car launches. The lineup will include all-new products, updated and new-generation models of the existing vehicles. Here’s a complied list of the top 8 all-new cars, which are slated to go on sale next month.

1. All-New Honda City

Honda Cars India has confirmed that it will unveil the fifth-generation City sedan on 16th March in Goa. The official launch date, however, is yet to be announced by the carmaker. It’s one of the much-awaited new car launches that will happen next month. The 2020 Honda City will receive comprehensive design and feature upgrades along with BS6-compliant engine setup. If reports are to be believed, the new City might also come with the mild hybrid powertrain.

2. Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace

The German carmaker is all set to bring in the 7-seater version of the Tiguan SUV on 6th March, 2020. Called the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, the SUV will come with a new 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine that’s good enough for 190bhp. For performing transmission duties, it will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power will be delivered to all-4 wheels drivetrain system with VW’s 4Motion system.

3. All-New Hyundai Creta

Previewed at the recently-concluded Auto Expo, the second-generation Hyundai Creta will hit showrooms on 17th March, 2020. Sitting on a new platform, the updated Creta comes with improved styling, upmarket interiors and all-new engine setup. Powertrains will be shared with the Kia Seltos including a 115bhp, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5-litre diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol.   

4. Volkswagen T-Roc

New Car Launches In March

Volkswagen T-Roc SUV will be the second offering from the German carmaker next month. To be offered in a single fully-loaded variant, the SUV will come as CBU (Completely Built Up) unit at an estimated price of Rs 23 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering the vehicle will be a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that’s good for 150bhp and 250Nm of torque. It will come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

5. New Hyundai Tucson

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift recently made its public debut at the Delhi Auto Expo. Price announcement will be made next month. The SUV will come in three trims and 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options. It can be had either with a 182bhp, 2.0L diesel or a 150bhp, 2.0L petrol engine. There will be two automatic gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed and an 8-speed. The new Tucson looks refreshing and is better equipped than before.

6. Maruti S-Cross Petrol

Maruti Suzuki India will soon announce prices of the new S-Cross petrol model. Unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the crossover will come with the BS6-compliant 103.5bhp, 1.5L K15B gasoline motor with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid technology. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The vehicle will also get new SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system. Minor changes will also be made to the updated model.

7. New Ford Endeavour

Ford India is all set to update its popular Endeavour SUV with a new 2.0L single turbo diesel engine in March, 2020. The new gasoline unit is the detuned version of the globally sold 2.0L twin turbo diesel motor boosted with turbocharged direct commonrail injection system. While twin-turbo version delivers 210bhp with 500Nm, the power and torque figures of the single turbo motor are yet to be revealed. The updated Endeavour will also get Ford’s new 10-speed automatic gearbox.

8. New Mahindra Thar

The new-generation Mahindra Thar is one of the much-awaited new car launches that will hit Indian roads next month. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, the vehicle has started reaching dealerships for technical training purpose. The all-new Thar will be built on the new GEN3 platform and witness comprehensive changes inside and out. In fact, the SUV will come with the more powerful 140bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel engine. With the generation change, the Thar might receive a 2.0L mStallion petrol engine.
