Hyundai has been testing the 7-seater version of the new Creta SUV in South Korea. The SUV has been spotted testing again and the latest spy images confirm that the new 7 Seater Hyundai Creta is significantly longer than the 5-seater model.

The 5-seater Hyundai Creta measures 4,300mm, while the 7-seater model is expected to be longer by 30mm. Adding to it, reports claim that the the new model will sit on 20mm longer wheelbase to create more space inside the cabin. The SUV also features flat roof instead of sloping roof in the 5-seater model. It gets usable roof rails and slimmer C-pillar.

The new-gen Hyundai Creta is based on the modified version of the K2 platform, which also underpins the Kia Seltos, and the Verna and the Elantra sedan. This platform is compatible enough to accommodate a 7-seater SUV. It is visible that the SUV gets stretched rear overhang to accommodate third row of seats. The 7-Seater Hyundai Creta will also receive design changes in the form of new solid chrome mesh grille and revised bumper, which looks similar to that of the Palisade.

Design changes will include new side sill garnish, rear quarter glass and a longer body, which makes it look different from the 5-seat version. The rear design will also be revised. It will have wider, split tail-lamps. Instead of round-ish profile, the rear of the 7-seater Hyundai Creta is relatively flat. Adding to it, the SUV also gets front parking sensors.

The 7-seater Creta is likely to source the engine options with the 5-seater sibling. It will be offered with 3 engines – a 115PS, 1.5L petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4L turbocharged petrol. A six-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard. Other gearbox options will include a CVT with 1.5L petrol, a torque convertor automatic with 1.5L diesel and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with 1.4L turbocharged petrol.
