The longer wheelbase 7-seater Tucson will take the place of the Santa Fe and will be the brand’s flagship SUV in India.

We informed you earlier that Hyundai is working on the 7-seater version of the next-gen Creta and Tucson. The Hyundai Tucson 7-seater version has been spotted testing. The 5-seat model will make debut in the country in 2020, while the 7-seater Tucson is expected to be launched in 2022-23.

The longer wheelbase 7-seater Tucson will take the place of the Santa Fe and will be the brand’s flagship SUV in India. It will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V and the Ford Endeavour. The second generation Hyundai Creta will be launched in India in 2020. The 7-seater Creta will arrive in 2021. It is expected that the next-gen Hyundai Tucson will only arrive in our market by 2021 or 2022. It is expected that the next-generation model will receive several changes with design inspiration comes from the models like Kona and Santa Fe.

The 7-seater Hyundai Tucson has been spotted running trials in China and wearing the body of the ix35. The ix35 is currently manufactured under the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture and shares body panels and design with the current Tucson. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the SUV comes with a stretched body to accommodate third row of seats.

Inside the cabin, the next-generation Tucson is likely to receive major upgrades in the form of new floating touchscreen infotainment system and Hyundai’s advanced Blue Link connectivity solution. The SUV will receive the BSVI compliant diesel and petrol engines. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.

The Korean automaker has recently launched the Venue compact SUV in the country at a starting price of Rs 6.5 lakh. The company will also launch the Kona electric SUV in India on July 9, 2019. It is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh.
