Prices of the 5-door Force Gurkha will soon be announced in the country. The model is expected to be offered with four seating layouts – 6, 7, 9 and 13-seats. Its 6-seater version will have captain chairs in the second and third rows and the 7-seater version will offer bench-type seats in the middle row and captain seats in the third row. The 5-door Gurkha is likely to sit on 400mm longer wheelbase than its 3-door sibling. For power, the SUV will use the same 2.6L turbo diesel engine (91bhp/250Nm) that does duty in the 3-door Gurkha. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is ready to hit roads in coming months. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced. The SUV will be made available with 7 and 9-seats options and the Thar-sourced 2.2L mHawk diesel engine. The motor could be detuned for Bolero Neo Plus. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. Mahindra will introduce an ambulance version of Bolero Neo Plus featuring 4-seats and a patient bed. Tata Motors will give a mid-life update to its flagship SUV – Safari – early next year. Major update will come in the form of the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). It might also get a 360 degree camera, air purifier and ventilated front seats. The SUV’s infotainment system will also be updated. The new unit will be bigger than the existing one and support the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The test mule was spotted with the larger 16-inch wheels and higher ground clearance than its hatchback sibling. It’s likely to feature plastic body cladding all around the body. Similar to the C3 hatch, the new Citroen 7-seater SUV will underpin the Stellantis’ CMP (Common Modular Platform). Though, it could be modified for the bigger, three-row model. Nissan X-Trail, the global 7-seater SUV from the Japanese automaker, recently showcased in India. The carmaker has confirmed that it will soon start feasibility study and testing of the SUV. In global markets, the X-Trail is available with the 1.5L turbo petrol mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options. The mild hybrid version, with the 2WD system, delivers power worth 163PS and 300Nm. It can do 0-100kmph in 9.6 seconds and attain a top speed of 200kmph. The 1.5L turbo with e-Power strong hybrid version comes with the 2WD and AWD drivetrain system, making 204PS with 300Nm and 213PS with 525Nm respectively.
