Hyundai has planned some important new product launches for the coming months. While the Ioniq 5 electric crossover and updated Kona will hit showrooms this year, the carmaker will bring in the new-generation Verna, Grand i10 Nios and Creta facelift sometime next year. And if reports are to be believed, the company is planning to foray into the compact MPV space with the new Stargazer that’s recently launched in the Indonesian market. Hyundai Ioniq 5

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV

The South Korean automaker confirmed the Hyundai Ioniq 5 India launch for the second half of 2022. The electric crossover sits on the E-GMP platform (Electric Global Modular Platform) that’s compatible to different body styles. The Ioniq 5 will come to India via CBU route and it will be the most expensive Hyundai EV in the country. In global markets, the EV is available with the single motor and dual-motor setup making 169bhp with 350Nm and 306bhp with 605Nm respectively. There are two battery packs – a 72.6kWh and a 58kWh – promising range of 481km and 385km (on the WLTP cycle) respectively. Specifications of the India-spec model are yet to be revealed. Hyundai Kona Facelift

The updated Hyundai Kona is likely to hit roads by the end of 2022. Reports suggest that the electric SUV might get a larger 64kWh battery pack with an electric motor delivering power worth 204bhp. Talking about the cosmetic changes, the model will feature a new closed-off grille, sleeker headlamps, lesser body cladding, newly-designed alloy wheels and revised front and rear bumpers. Inside, there will be a 10.25-inch all digital instrument console, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and updated BlueLink connectivity. The Hyundai Creta facelift will surely one of the much-awaited new Hyundai cars that will arrive in early 2023. The model will make its public appearance at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo. Most of the upgrades will be made to its exterior and interior, while the engine setup will be carried forward from the existing model. The Creta facelift will feature the brand’s new parametric grille as we have seen in the new-gen Tucson. The SUV will also receive slightly revised front bumper with wider air inlet, repositioned new headlamps, new LED taillamps and different tailgate design. Hyundai has started testing the Grand i10 Nios facelift in the country. The hatchback’s updated version is expected to receive most of the design changes at the front end. It might get a newly-designed grille and revised headlamps with LED DRLs. There might be a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels, updated rear bumper and new taillamps. The 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift is likely to come in new exterior colour schemes. The facelifted model, however, will continue to come with the existing 83bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 110bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 69bhp, 1.2L petrol CNG engine options. More details here…

The new-generation Hyundai Verna will witness market launch sometime next year. Prior to that, the carmaker might showcase the updated sedan at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo in January. Compared to the current generation model, the new one will be bigger and have more spacious cabin. It will follow Hyundai’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language with a new parametric jewel pattern grille with turn-signal integration wide. The sedan will have a fastback-like styling with a tapered roof. One of the major upgrades will come in the form of the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). Hyundai Stargazer MPV

Rumour has it that the South Korean automaker is planning to launch the Hyundai Stargazer MPV in India. The model is already on sale in the Indonesian market. It’s available with a 115bhp, 1.5L MPI petrol engine and two gearbox options – 6-speed manual and iVT automatic.  The Stargazer comes with 6-seats layout featuring captain seats in the middle row and bench seat in the third row. It has been equipped with ADAS suite along with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology, automatic AC, wireless charging and full LED lighting.
