5 Years Free Warranty on Diesel Maruti Swift, Dzire, Brezza, S-Cross

Maruti Suzuki is celebrating cumulative sales of 2.9 million units of its diesel models in India. To celebrate this milestone, Maruti Suzuki has announced to offer a free 5 year/1 lakh km warranty on the diesel powered Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza and the S-Cross. The company will continue to offer 2 year/40,000km standard warranty on the petrol variants of the Swift and Dzire. The warranty can be extended to 5 year/1,00,000km for an additional cost.

Speaking on the free warranty, Shashank Srivastava, executive director, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “as a small gesture of our gratitude to the admirers and prospective buyers, we are offering a free 5-year/1,00,000km warranty on the entire diesel line-up of these models to ensure a worry free ownership experience.” Also See – Maruti XL6 6-seater MPV launching tomorrow

Maruti is offering the free warranty on the variants equipped with Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine. While powering the Swift twins, this engine produces 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. On the Vitara Brezza and the S-Cross, the 1.3L engine churns out 89bhp and 200Nm of torque.

The new 5 year free warranty plan will cover several components including the high-pressure pump, electronic control module (ECM), compressor, turbocharger assembly, transmission parts and others. The 1.3-litre diesel engine won’t be upgraded to meet the BSVI emission norms, which will be applicable in April 2020. With this announcement, Maruti Suzuki is hoping to increase the sales of its diesel cars in India. Apart from the 1.3L engine, Maruti Suzuki is also offering the in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the Ciaz and the Ertiga.
