5 New Mahindra Electric SUVs To Unveil On August 15 – Confirmed

By releasing a new teaser video, Mahindra has confirmed that it will reveal 5 new Born Electric SUVs on August 15, 2022. The latest teaser reveals 5 differently styled Mahindra Electric SUVs including Coupe SUV, compact SUVs and a mid-sized SUV. The previous teasers had revealed that Mahindra will introduce 3 electric SUVs under Born Electric range. These SUVs will be revealed in UK, which suggests that the new EVs will be the brand’s global product and will be launched in several international markets.

Mahindra had announced to have 7 Born Electric series and these 5 will be the first to be introduced by 2025-26. All these vehicles will be designed at Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) headed by Pratap Bose. While design work is done at MADE, the new born electric SUVs will take shape at its engineering and R&D centre at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. Mahindra is also recruiting about 900 engineers to build EV capabilities and design and develop new electric vehicles at its MRV centre.

Out of these 5 models, four will be ground up electric vehicles. The fifth model is expected to be the XUV400, which is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2022. Adding to it, Mahindra has also showcased a brand-new coupe SUV that is likely to be called the Mahindra XUV900 Electric SUV Coupe. Adding to it, Mahindra is also expected to showcase an electric mid-size SUV which will be similar in size of the XUV700.

The teasers reveal that the new Mahindra Electric SUVs will come with ‘C’ shaped LED DRLs in the front. At the back, the SUV gets LED light bars running across the width. The latest teaser reveals the side body profile of the new SUVs. The interior teasers reveal a dual-screen for infotainment and instrumentation purpose along with a rotary dial placed in the centre console.

Mahindra Electric SUV Teased

The cabin will have minimalistic theme with AC vents integrated in the dashboard. The Mahindra Electric SUVs will come with a panoramic sunroof and a hexagonal, two-spoke steering wheel. The Born Electric SUVs are also expected to be equipped with connected car tech and the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.

Mahindra XUV900 SUV Coupe Teased

Mahindra has recently received funding of Rs 1,925 crores from BII (British International Investment). The company will form a new EV subsidiary for its upcoming new electric cars that will be sold globally. It is also reported that Mahindra is preparing an all-electric pick-up truck, which is expected to target the United States of America.
